One of our Volvo technicians from our York delership completed his first ever Great North Run earlier this month, raising over £1,000 for the charity that supported him during his illness.
Blair Scott, aged 26, completed the biggest half-marathon in the UK in an impressive two hours and five minutes, raising £1,279 for Cancer Research UK. He decided to run the half-marathon after the charity helped him through treatment when he had a brain tumour removed in June 2017.
Blair said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have completed the Great North Run.
“The atmosphere and support from spectators was amazing. It was the best feeling, being surrounded by people all taking part for fantastic causes.
“The team at Ray Chapman Motors have been so supportive, and their donations made a huge impact on the fundraising total, so I can’t thank them enough for all their help. I’m just counting down the days until the next one now!”
