We are please to showcase Volvo’s range expansions for two of its newest models – the dynamic S60 saloon and the striking XC40 SUV.
Discover a host of new features that have been added to Volvo’s premium mid-size S60 saloon and multi-award-winning XC40 compact SUV at Ray Chapman Motors in York and Malton.
Launched earlier this year, the third-generation S60 is now available in petrol-electric hybrid form, and in a version that focusses on luxury and craftmanship, giving you even more choice. The XC40 has also been enhanced with new engine options and features, and even more generous specification levels, to add to its desirability, connectivity technology and safety.
The eagerly awaited T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid powertrain is now available exclusively in the S60’s new R-Design Plus trim level. The all-wheel-drive T8 Twin Engine combines a 303hp petrol engine with an 87hp electric motor for a total output of 390hp. Performance is suitably electrifying, with 0-62mph in just 4.6 seconds. Its high-voltage battery provides an electric-only range of up to 36 miles, with CO2 emissions from just 39g/km.
The R-Design Plus version has replaced the R-Design Edition launch trim and is now joined by a new Inscription Plus variant, which offers a more luxurious experience.
Highlights of the R-Design Plus include a head-up display, part-leather sports seats and highgloss black exterior trim elements. The Inscription Plus trim exudes refined Scandinavian style and features Nappa full-leather upholstery, Driftwood interior inlays and cooled front seats.
Duncan Chapman, Retailer Principal at Ray Chapman Motors, said: “The S60 fuses dynamic ability, ground-breaking technology and striking Scandinavian design. As you’d expect from a Volvo, it also offers cutting-edge technology to help avoid collisions and protect occupants.
“With greater powertrain and trim options, we can offer customers greater choice, so drivers and passengers can benefit from a more focused driving experience or something more luxurious. These are qualities that resonate strongly with Volvo customers, and we look forward to showcasing the new choices to our showroom visitors.”
Meanwhile, the winning appeal of the top-selling Volvo XC40 has been enhanced by revisions to its engines and equipment, to offer greater choice and value for our customers.
Its highly efficient 1.5-litre three-cylinder T3 petrol engine has had its power output increased from 156 to 163hp, and it is also now available for the first time with an automatic gearbox in addition to the existing six-speed manual.
Adding to the powertrain extension is the option of a two-wheel-drive 2.0-litre four-cylinder T4 petrol engine, to complement the existing all-wheel-drive version. Not only is the front-wheel-drive T4 cheaper to buy than the all-wheel-drive version, it is also slightly more fuel efficient.
All versions of the XC40 benefit from additional equipment, too. This includes auto-folding door mirrors, a 12v power outlet in the luggage compartment, a locking glovebox and a load protection net. New colour choices have also been introduced.
Duncan Chapman adds: “The Volvo XC40 has already proved a great success with drivers in and around North Yorkshire since it arrived in our showrooms in February 2018.
“We are confident that the new powertrains, enhanced equipment and greater choice will enhance its appeal to customers who want a desirable and distinctive premium compact SUV which offers class-leading interior usability, connectivity and safety technology.”
The recently expanded S60 and XC40 range are available now at Ray Chapman Motors.
