For the second year running, Volvo Car UK has been named Manufacturer of the Year at the annual BusinessCar Awards. The XC40 was also named Best Compact SUV. The latest award wins validate the brand's continued commitment to leading the way in safety, connectivity and electrification, developing the best models for fleet drivers.
Presented at a ceremony in London on Wednesday, 30 October 2019, the BusinessCar Awards recognise the fleets, suppliers and manufacturers that demonstrate outstanding customer service and innovative products. The awards are judged by respected industry experts, with fleet decision-makers voting for the coveted Manufacturer of the Year award.
Simon Harris, Editor of BusinessCar, said: "Volvo is now one of the serious players in the fleet sector, switched on to its customers' needs and delivering the right products for business users. Readers had clearly noticed the brand has improved its exceptional standards for fleet customers since winning this award a year ago, with recent changes to its corporate sales structure.
"Last year's New Company Car of the Year, the XC40, continues to impress, with a broader range of engines and technology. It still looks as fresh as the day it was launched and has rock-solid residual values."
Steve Beattie, Head of Business Sales at Volvo Car UK, commented: "To be recognised at these high-profile industry awards is a huge honour, particularly to be named Fleet Manufacturer of the Year for the second year in a row. This category is voted for by readers who are fleet professionals, so confirms that our restructured customer-facing teams, including the newly created virtual sales team, are delivering on our promise of being easy to work with and providing outstanding customer service.
"The XC40 has won multiple awards since its launch in 2017, and this latest win demonstrates that this premium compact SUV delivers everything our fleet customers expect from a Volvo: the perfect balance of practical, convenient features, comfort and striking styling combined with low running costs and pioneering safety features."
