Three Local Apprentice’s Become Fully Qualified Volvo Technicians

Three local Apprentice Technicians are celebrating after completing their apprenticeship at local Volvo Dealership, Ray Chapman Motors. Daniel Mayman, Joseph Bell and Jason Smith (pictured above left to right) have all successfully achieved their Level 3 Gold Technician certification after completing the 3-year course.

All three apprentices completed the course to a very high standard, with Jason Smith achieving the highest grade of Distinction, and Daniel Mayman even going on to win Bronze in The Institute of Motor Industry Skill Auto Competition last year, where he competed against hundreds of apprentices from all across the country.

When it comes to Apprentice’s, Volvo commit to supporting the development, employability and broader personal development skills, to ensure they can progress and develop their career. That is why when it comes to selecting the right people to become Volvo apprentices, it’s as much about attitude as it is about vocational and academic success, and all three apprentices have shown problem-solving abilities and an enthusiasm for the industry, these are all attributes that are vital in a role at Ray Chapman Motors.

Daniel, Joe and Jason are now employed as Volvo Personal Service Technicians, meaning they are responsible for each stage of the customer workshop experience: from arranging service bookings and taking delivery of the customer’s car, to performing the service or repair, before finally preparing and clearly explaining the customer’s invoice.

David Kellett, Group Service Manager at Ray Chapman Motors, said : “We are delighted with Daniel, Joe and Jason achieving their Level 3 Gold Technician certificate, and to have them on our team as fully-fledged technicians.”

“I’d like to say on behalf of everyone at Ray Chapman Motors, congratulations to all of you!”

After achieving their Level 3 Certification, all three newly qualified technicians are now on their way to attaining their Hybrid Certification. This will enable them to maintain and repair Hybrid vehicles.
