Am I Eligible?

The Motability Scheme provides worry-free mobility to disabled people as it enables them to exchange their mobility allowance to lease a new car. You are eligible to join if you are in receipt of one of the following allowances and have at least 12months’ award length remaining:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment of £71.00 Per Week

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA) of £71.00 Per Week

  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) the mobility element of this allowance is £71.00 Per Week

  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) this allowance is £79.25 Per Week

What is included?
  • Car insurance, servicing and maintenance due to general wear

  • Accident and breakdown cover

  • Tyre repair

  • Windscreen repair or replacement

  • 60,000 mile allowance across the 3 year period

  • Metallic Paint at no extra cost

  • Up to three named drivers for cars and WAVs

How do I take advantage of the at-home charging point option?

During your application for a full-battery electric vehicle, you will be asked if you would like to take advantage of our charging solution. All you need to do is say yes, and your details will then be passed on to one of our approved installers.

You’ll then be contacted directly by an installer who will arrange the provision of a charging solution.

How do I pay?

Motability receive your payments straight from your allowance provider, to make paying simple. So you know, you might need to top this up with an Advance Payment.

How do I apply and order?

When will Motability receive my first lease payment?

Your payments will start once you get your Scheme vehicle. Motability receive these straight from your allowance provider, to make paying simple.

Do I need to be in my vehicle while it's being used?

Your vehicle needs to be used by the disabled customer or for their benefit.

How many miles am I allowed to drive?

You can drive up to 60,000 miles over a three-year lease and 100,000 miles over a five-year lease.

Can I buy the vehicle at the end of my lease?

No, you're not able to buy the Motability Scheme vehicle at the end of your lease.
