Opening in early 2026, we will be partnering with the Chinese brand Chery at a dedicated location close to the Vanguard shopping centre on Malton Road, York.

Refurbishment work on the old D&J Woodcock site will soon commence with a planned opening date yet to be confirmed.

Our relationship with Volvo goes back 56 years and during this time we have never considered representing additional brands. We are Volvo through and through, but the UK car industry is currently experiencing significant change, both with electrification and with the sudden influx of Chinese brands coming to market, many of which offer excellent products and price positions. Our commitment to Volvo is unwavering and this will not change. We have made significant investment into the brand in recent years, and Duncan Chapman firmly believes that Volvo has a very bright future ahead with many new products due to come to the market in the coming years.

The introduction of Chery into our business provides an alternative offering and access into an additional part of the car market, both of which we feel complement the long-term future of our business.

Full electric vehicles will come to market very soon. Chery was founded in 1997, and is a diversified group centred on the automobile value chain. They have been the largest car exporter for 22 consecutive years in China and in 2024 they exported 1,144,588 cars. They have surpassed ten million in vehicle sales since founded in 1997.
