Barrie joined the Company in May 2008. He has a wealth of experience within the Motor Trade having previously worked for several other local dealerships. He has over 15 years experience within the Motor Trade. He enjoys playing Squash

When Chris, our Sales Consultant left school he cruised around the world for six years. Not as you may suspect because he was an early lottery winner, but because he was working as a cabin steward for a Cruise Ship. He tells me that although this job was hard work, he enjoyed it and learnt a high standard of customer service. After this Chris spent seventeen years working as an Assistant Engineering Technician doing Railway Signalling, then worked for five years as a Sales Executive for Polar Ford before joining Ray Chapman's Sales Team in May 2009. Chris comes to us fired with enthusiasm, knowledge of the market and a high regard for customers. In his spare time Chris enjoys spending time with his family at home with their very cute and very excitable springer spaniel Bramble. The family enjoy going on camping trips together and outdoor activities such as country walks. Chris is also a keen runner and regularly takes part in Charity Fundraiser Runs. Chris goes cycling and is interested in all motorsport- basically anything with an engine and wheels that race- Chris is a keen fan!

Dave joined the Company in March 2000. His interests include sport walking and music.

Derrick previously worked for the York based Volvo dealer Walfred's before joining Ray Chapman Motors when the Company took control of the York Territory in 2000. He enjoys old motorcycles and fishing.

Helen joined the Company in April 2002. She plays Netball for Rufforth and is a member of the new Roko gym in York.

Howard joined the Company in 2000 before leaving for a short while. He re-joined in 2005. He has had spells with Walfreds and Mill Volvo. With over 25 years experience there is not a lot he does not know when it comes to Volvo's. He enjoys DIY / Motorsport and Caravans.

James first started in the Motor Industry as a Service Technician in the Royal Air Force and worked there for four years before working at both Renault and Peugeot. After this he spent twelve years selling and advising on financial Services at Cooperative Insurance and also in Estate Agencies. James has been with us since the 1st September 2008 and has a wealth of knowledge in offering high levels of customer help and advice, coupled with his understanding from his mechanical background making him a very pleasant Sales Consultant to deal with. In James’ spare time He enjoys playing golf, gardening and spending time at home with his family where He is a keen amateur cook. James also added he plays squash regularly with Barrie and always wins! Barrie is yet to comment on this!

Jamie has just joined Ray Chapman Motors this August as an Apprentice Technician and has already become a valuable member of the team. In Jamie's spare time He enjoys modifying cars and plays the guitar.

John used to work as a Progress Worker for Nestle Rowntrees before joining us this August as our Driver/ Valeter. Like many of the staff John is a keen Golfer and is a member at the Forest Park Golf Club. Another hobby of John's is supporting his favourite football team- Glasgow Celtic!

Karl joined The Volvo dealer Walfreds's in York in July 1998 and continued with Ray Chapman Motors when the Company took control of the York territory in 2000. He joined when he left school and has since completed all the training and is now a fully qualified and valuable member of our team.

Mandy joined the Company in 1987. In the last 20 years she has carried out many roles including selling cars / Service Advisor and Sales Admin

Mark joined Ray Chapman Motors in March 2000 at the time the Company bought the Volvo operation from Walfred's. Mark has worked in York and Hull for Volvo since 1984. He enjoys Golf and watching football.

Maxine is the lady you will have all spoken to. On front desk, Maxine directs all your calls and is always happy to help and advise wherever she can. Maxine worked for a York carpet company called ICC for five years as a PA, before leaving to work at York Audi on a Temporary Maternity leave position in September 2008. Maxine has been with us since July and has defiantly settled in with the help from customers and staff. When Maxine is not at work she enjoys various sports, goes quad bike racing and off roading in Dalby Forest and although she doesnt get chance to go as much as she would like- loves scuba diving. Maxine is also about to start learning how to play golf. So if you have any useful tips and advice- I'm sure she will appreciate it!

Mick joined the Company in July 1981. He currently has over 27 years service. Previously employed as Parts manager at our Malton dealership he moved over to York in 2001 to manage Yorks Aftersales Dept. He is a season ticket holder at Manchester United!

Natale is in charge of fully Valating your car and making sure they're ready on time. She joined us in November 2008 and has since taken charge of Wayne. We are sure Wayne sometimes thinks he has two wives and doesn't know whether he is better off at home or work! In nice weather Natalie spends her time on her motorbike enjoying various trips and scenic routes.

Norman first started with us straight from college in September 2006 and is now a qualified Technician. When he is not buried deep in the workshop He enjoys off-roading around various parts of the UK and is really good at playing the drums!

Steve has been with Ray Chapman's since we took over Walfred's in 2000. He has been in the Motor Trade since leaving school having started as a technician, moving through workshop foreman and Service Manager. With this background, he is now well placed in our Sales Department in York. He still finds time to look after his large garden,menagerie comprising of Dogs, Cats, Chickens and a Pony.With all this to do he tells us that he even has time to look after his wife too!

Steve joined the Company in February 2006. He has been thrown in at the deep end and runs the York Parts Department virtually alone. He enjoys Football and Cricket.

Wayne joined the Company in March 2002. He works within the sales Department and provides support to all the Sales Consultants. He enjoys VW Camper Van events

Anthony Boyes has worked both at our York and Malton site since joining us in 1998. He is now in Malton workshop which suits him well as it enables him to cycle to work keeping him fit and healthy.

Unlike his namesake on Heartbeat, Ben Ventress has worked hard at Ray Chapman's since joining us in 2003. Starting as a work experience pupil from a local school, he joined our apprenticeship scheme and is now a qualified technician working out of the Malton dealership.

Dan Hall spent most of his working life as a Farm Manager but has spent the last seven years as a dedicated member of our Sales Team in the Malton Dealership. Whilst being a Rugby League enthusiast, he still finds time to dedicate himself to Junior Football and, of course, his wife of twenty years.

Dan Watson has been with us now for eight years and thoroughly enjoys working out of the Malton Dealership in the busy Parts and Spares Department.

Probably the longest serving member of our entire staffing complement, Gary Delaney joined us in 1977 and has risen through the ranks to become Master Technician at Malton

Graham started working for us in December 2007 and washes cleans and polishes cars for both our Renault and Volvo sides of the business

Janet was with Ray Chapman's for seven years before leaving for seven months. But, she just couldn't stay away. She rejoined us taking up position at her old desk because, quote, "I just couldn't stay away. I missed it too much." Jan shares an office with John Baldwin and between them, keeps the rest of us on our toes doing the sums and making sure they add up.Covering both the York and Malton site accounts is an enormous task but we are all aware that nothing will escape Janet's eagle eye as the reading of Crime Novels is a pastime and we are sure she picks up hints on how to fathom problems from her books.

John Baldwin is in control of the desk that has every important piece of paper passing over it at some stage or another. Joining us on April 1st 1997, John came to us with ten years Motor Trade Accountancy experience already under his belt. We are priviledged to have such a wealth of experience and control in our accounts department.Controlling both the York and Malton sites is an enormous task that John takes in his stride.

John has been with the company since April 1981. Since being with us, he has won various awards from Volvo - Volvo Technician of the year, Volvo Service Advisor (Twice) and Volvo Manager of the year (twice). In his spare time, he enjoys point-to-points and Horse Racing.

Kathy has been with us since 2004. She joined as sales administrator for our sales team at Malton. She works hard to keep paperwork in order for our sales team and sometimes this means keeping them in order too!

Mike Hall has been a member of the Ray Chapman Staff for over fifteen years.He has risen to the position of Sales Manager at our Malton Dealership. Prior to entering the motor industry as a salesman 20 years ago, he was a butcher at the Malton Bacon Factory.Mike lists his hobbies as Football, Cooking and Family. We like his priorities, fun, food and family last! However,we can find no fault with his future ambitions to raise his family well, be successful at work and retire to a place in the sun. Mike says how much he enjoys working at Ray Chapman Motors mainly because of the team spirit and long lasting friendships he has forged with many of his customers whom he would like to sincerely thank now, for their continued support

Neil Sutton joined our Sales team at Malton in July 2008

Rory Queen has been with Ray Chapman Motors for nearly ten years. He has previously been a publican and brings his unique style and sense of humour to the company business. Apart from being a dedicated salesman, he enjoys a bit of Amateur Dramatics featuring regularly as the outrageous "Dame" in local Pantomime.For a short while, he worked in our York Branch but has returned to his roots and can be found at our Malton Dealership .

Shaun used to work for North Riding Garages but joined Ray Chapman Motors in November 2006 strengthening our team at Malton.

Steve started working for us in June 2001 and has since come up through the parts department, taking management control of our Malton and York Dealerships

Trisha has been with the company since June 2008 and she will probably be the first person you see or speak to when contacting Ray Chapman Motors
